VINCENTIAN CHAIR OF SOCIAL JUSTICE CONFERENCE 2005
The Foundation of a Civilization of Love and JusticeSaturday, October 22, 2005 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Queens Campus - Bent Hall
"The future of humanity lies in the hands of those who are strong enough to provide coming generations with reasons for living and hoping." ["Gaudium et Spes", 1965, #31] Since 1999, the biennial Vincentian Chair of Social Justice conferences have convened academics, practitioners, church leaders and policy makers to explore perspectives on poverty and move beyond problem analysis to personal and systemic solutions. In this 40 th Anniversary year of "Gaudium et Spes," we celebrate Hope--the theological virtue that is the foundation of communities of love and justice, indeed civilizations as well.
