Becoming a Vincentian
Priest or Brother

St Vincent de PaulSt. Vincent de Paul met and served God in the poor, sick, abandoned outcasts in the countryside and the city. He was a spiritual director of diocesan priests, a peasant on intimate terms with nobility, part of the vanguard of Church renewal, a creative genius at organizing social welfare programs, and a master preacher. He ministered to the needs of the sick, the hungry, the homeless, and the downtrodden. Vincent organized thousands of able priests, brothers, sisters, and laity to serve the poor with him. In 1625 he founded the Vincentian Community of priests and brothers, the Congregation of the Mission.

Today, more than 4,000 Vincentians serve in 74 countries as preachers, educators, parish priests, missionaries, migrant ministers, chaplains, and spiritual directors. In the United States alone, more than 500 men continue St. Vincent's mission to meet God through service to the poor. Men interested in joining the Vincentians should manifest the social, physical, mental, and intellectual skills necessary for a life of ministry. Our formation programs nurture a candidate's desire to dedicate his whole life and love to God and God's people, especially the poor.

If you are interested in learning more about the Vincentians, please write, call, or email and we will put you in touch with a Vincentian near your home.
