1802 - Birth of John Gabriel Perboyre, January 6.
1816
- Begins high school at Montauban.
1817
- Writes to father about possible vocation as a priest.
1818 - Enters Congregation of the Mission on December 25.
1820 - Professed vows.
1821 - Arrived in Paris to study theology.
1823 - Professor at College of Montdidier; went to Paris in 1824 and 1825 to be ordained subdeacon and deacon.
1826 - Ordained a priest on September 23 in the rue de Bac Chapel of the Daughters of Charity.
1826 - Professor at major seminary of Saint Flour.
1827 - Superior at minor seminary of Saint Flour.
1831 - May 2 death of his brother, Louis, who was travelling to China as a missionary.
1832
- Appointed assistant novice director in the Vincentian Motherhouse..
1835
- Receives permission to go to China on February 2; embarked from Le Havre on March 21; arrived in Macau on August 29.
1836 - Arrived at Honan on June 27; began preaching in Chinese
1839 - A persecution against the Church broke out in the area in which Father Perboyre was propagating the Faith and he was taken prisoner on September 15; arrested on September 18.
1840 - Sentenced to death on July 15; executed on September 11.
1889 - Beatified by Pope XIII on November 10.
1996 - Canonized by Pope John Paul II on June 2.
