ACCULTURATION SEMINAR FOR INTERNATIONAL PRIESTS
June 2-6, 2008

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for admission to the program, a priest must

1. Be recommended by officials of the diocese or the leadership of his religious community. Letter of recommendation must be forwarded directly to St. John’s University from diocesan personnel office or major superior in US.

2. Have been a resident of the United States generally for at least six months.

3. Demonstrate conversational proficiency in English.

4. Complete application form (Word format) including report of all ministerial experience.

RESIDENCE: To enhance the learning environment, each participant will be assigned a private room within the student residence halls. Meals will be provided on campus. Athletic and library facilities will be available to participants.

COSTS:

Non-refundable registration fee $50 (Due May 1)
Tuition, room and meals $550 (Due on arrival)
Total $600

FOLLOW-UP SEMINAR: As a follow-up to the June session, during the academic year participants will be offered the opportunity of meeting with the St. John’s team and addressing various topics in an afternoon seminar. These convenings will provide additional learning and support to the participants.

SCHEDULE: The seminar opens at 12:30 p.m. on June 2 with lunch and closes on June 6 at 1:30 after a Eucharist and graduates luncheon.
